Sexual Harassment at Work
Project Description
In 2004 the Research Centre for Gender Equality (KETHI), a Legal Entity under the General Secretariat for Gender Equality, carried out a research. The study was about “Sexual harassment at Work” and involved a sample of 1,200 people from different areas of the country and working in various fileds.
The research aimed at:
- monitoring the real extent of the problem of sexual harassment against women at work;
- identifying the factors contribuitng to this phenomenon;
- indicating the attitude and the reactions of women up against violent behaviours;
- addressing policy-makers with specific recommendations for preventing and combating this problem.

The reserach findings were published and widely disseminated (Artinopoulou, V, Papatheodorou, T, “Sexual harassment at the workplace”, Athens, Legal Library, 2006). The text analyses the factors contributing to such a phenomenon and lists recommendations for planning and implementing further policies.
